SC GOP Cancels 2020 Primary

(Columbia, SC) -- Mark Sanford won't be getting any help from his home state in his run for president.

Before the former congressman and former governor announced yesterday he would run for the Republican presidential nomination, the state's GOP canceled the 2020 primary.

The party's chairman says this weekend's decision was made because there is no viable challenger, and canceling the primary would save the taxpayers over a million dollars.
