Fire Blamed On Transformer Explosion

(Columbia, SC) -- A broken tree branch is blamed for starting a series of events that led to a house fire in Columbia.

A home on Westwood Ave caught fire yesterday afternoon when a branch fell onto a power line, which snapped. That caused a transformer to explode into flames which jumped to the roof of the home that caught fire.

A shed and some cars were also damaged, but no one was hurt.
