(Richland County, SC) -- The Richland County Council is halting future payments to the Penny Tax program.
Last night's decision came after an audit of the program was released in its entirety to the Council back in August. They'll be freezing future payments to the Program Development Team, but will still pay general contractors and subcontractors for ongoing work.
Payments could pick back up after the Council gets legal clearance or reconciles with the Program Development Team.
