Former SCDOT Board Member Sentenced For Trying To Hire Prostitute

(Columbia, SC) -- A former state official will spend seven months behind bars.

Seventy-two-year-old John Hardee was once on the board that oversees South Carolina highways.

He was arrested in August for trying to hire a prostitute just hours after getting probation for destroying evidence in an FBI investigation.

Hardee was sentenced yesterday, and he will be on home confinement for three months after he is released from prison.
