(Columbia, SC) -- The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control says flu cases are on the rise.
They report nearly 100 people have already been hospitalized with flu-like symptoms this season.
The first flu-related death was reported a few weeks ago. Officials urge everyone to take precautions not to spread germs during the holiday this week, and to get a flu shot.
