South Carolina Lawmakers To Revisit Fetal Heartbeat Bill In January

(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina senators are expected to debate a fetal heartbeat bill during the legislative session in January.

It was passed by the House in April and was sent to the Senate floor a few weeks ago by a committee.

Senator Mia McLeod from Richland County has pre-filed a bill in response.

Her legislation would compensate some women who wanted to get abortions but were required to keep the pregnancy if the fetal heartbeat bill becomes law.
