(New Orleans, LA) -- LSU is king after beating Clemson 42-25 in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in New Orleans.
Quarterback Joe Burrow passed for 463 yards and five touchdowns, and also ran for a score, as top-ranked LSU finished 15-and-0 to claim its first national title since 2007. Ja'Marr Chase hauled in nine passes for 221 yards and two TD's in the win.
Trevor Lawrence threw for 234 yards and ran for a score for third-ranked Clemson, which led 17-7 early in the second quarter.
Clemson had its 29-game winning streak snapped to end its season 14-and-1.
