(Hampton County, SC) -- A series of tornados tore through the Palmetto state Monday claiming nine lives.
Five people are dead after a tornado tore through Hampton County. Twelve additional people were injured.
Among those dead are 56-year-old Donna Breland, Jim Breland, and 26-year-old Kayla Breland.
In Orangeburg County two people were killed when a twister tore a home from its foundation.
The National Weather Service confirms an EF3 touched down, with wind speeds between 136 and 165 miles per hour.
63-year-old Gerald Chavis and 68-year-old Doris Chavis were killed.
