Attorney General's Office Investigating Price Gouging Complaints

(Columbia, SC) -- The South Carolina Attorney General's Office is investigating claims of price gouging during the COVID-19 pandemic.

They've received over 650 complaints since Governor McMaster declared a state of emergency in March.

Results of price gouging investigations are sent to local solicitors to be looked into.

Violating the state price gouging law could result in 30 days in jail, a one-thousand dollar fine, or both.
