Polls Open At 7 A.M. For Primary Voting In South Carolina

(Columbia, SC) -- It's primary election day today in South Carolina.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., though over 100-thousand people will be voting through absentee mail-in ballots.

Election officials say about 80-percent of absentee votes in the state are being sent in the mail due to the pandemic.

Only 34 of the 170 general assembly members are facing a challenger within their political party.
