(Columbia, SC) -- There are more South Carolina residents in the hospital due to the coronavirus.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control says there are currently 824 people in hospital beds that have tested positive or are under investigation for COVID-19.
That leaves over 29-hundred inpatient hospital beds available. The state is at a 72.29-percent hospital bed utilization rate.
This comes as the state announces a thousand newly-confirmed coronavirus cases and six more deaths.
