Clemson Ordinance Requires Face Coverings In Public Areas Beginning Today

(Clemson, SC) -- Face coverings are required in public areas of Clemson beginning today.

Last night, the City Council unanimously passed a citywide ordinance to require face masks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Every person over the age of 12 within the city limits is required to wear a face covering or mask if they are in contact with anyone not in their family or household-- including in restaurants, bars, stores, and other public buildings or venues.

The ordinance will be in effect for 60 days.

Other town and cities across the state are considering their own mask ordinances.
