(Columbia, SC) -- There's a record high number of coronavirus deaths in South Carolina.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 56 more deaths from the virus, bringing the death toll to 1,203.
There were also 1,870 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 announced yesterday.
That brings the state total to 73,101 since the pandemic began.
