Unemployed SC Residents Could Qualify For Extended Benefits Program

(Columbia, SC) -- Unemployed South Carolina residents could get additional relief through the Extended Benefits program.

It's for people who have exhausted all of the other state unemployment options.

The state is now offering an extra six weeks to those who need it on top of the initial 10 weeks of extra pay.

The extension is allowed because the unemployment rate has been above eight-percent for months.
