State Democratic Party Files Preliminary Injunction For Election Changes

The South Carolina Democratic Party is pushing for changes to the voting process ahead of the November elections.

They've filed a preliminary injunction with the U.S. Supreme Court's South Carolina district, asking to expand early voting. The South Carolina Election Commission has already asked lawmakers for emergency changes, including letting voters apply for an absentee ballot online, removing the witness requirement for absentee return envelopes, and letting voters use drop boxes to return absentee ballots.

The SCEC is also seeking curbside voting be made available at designated locations instead of every polling place.
