(Columbia, SC) --  DHEC announced 505 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the state's total to 112,643 since the pandemic began.
 They also announced 42 more deaths, but those occurred over multiple days. Of those who died of the virus, 38 were elderly, and four were middle-aged.
DHEC says that testing was at the lowest levels since May, despite more free testing being available.
