(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina is applying for federal funding to help those who lost their jobs because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Governor's Office and Department of Employment and Workforce say the application for FEMA's Lost Wages Assistance program is submitted.
If approved, claimants can receive an additional 300-dollars in benefits on top of what they get each week. The Lost Wages Assistance program stems from a presidential executive order allowing 44-billion dollars to be used for unemployment relief.
