Covid Cases Drop Below 500

(Columbia, SC) -- The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announced 489 newly-confirmed cases yesterday. 

That brings the state's total to 131,428 since the pandemic began. 

Twenty-eight more deaths were reported, which occurred over a number of days. Twenty-five of the deaths were people age 65 or over.
