(Columbia, SC) -- The University of South Carolina and DHEC are working together to invite random state residents to get a free COVID-19 test.
Invitations in blue envelopes are being sent to 32-thousand-500 random people across all backgrounds, races, and ethnicities.
The "South Carolina Strong" project aims to get a more accurate understanding of who has coronavirus in the state.
Anyone who receives the envelope is eligible for a nasal swab test, with results in 24 to 48 hours.
