Lexington Lets Mask Mandate Expire

(Lexington, SC) -- The Lexington Town Council has decided to let the city's mask ordinance expire after it had been in force for four months to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The ordinance had been in place for sixty days and was extended once for another sixty days, but council members say they did not have the votes to pass another extension.

It could be brought up for consideration to a future meeting.

State health officials say citizens need to continue taking steps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
