(Pine Ridge, SC) -- Residents of Pine Ridge are calling for Mayor Robert Wells to resign, presenting a petition to the Town Council at last night's meeting.
This comes after the entire police force resigned in mid-October, marking the fourth police chief and 10th officer to resign since the mayor took office.
Two of five Town Council members voted yes on a motion to remove Wells from a two-person public safety committee that oversees police matters.
The council passed a motion to have an independent agency handle the hiring of a new police chief.
