Over 3,200 Coronavirus Cases In K-12 Schools In South Carolina

(Columbia, SC) -- There are now over 32-hundred coronavirus cases in K -12 schools in the Palmetto state. That is the cumulative number, meaning it's the total amount of cases since the fall semester started. 

Over 2,200 cases are students and 984 are employees. In the Midlands, over 175 public and private schools are reporting cases of COVID-19. 

Statewide, DHEC announced 1,088 cases of COVID-19 yesterday. That brings the total number of coronavirus cases in the Palmetto State to 186,528 since the pandemic began. 

Eleven more deaths were reported, bringing South Carolina's confirmed COVID-19 death toll to 3,884. DHEC says one death dates back to November 2nd, but most happened between November 14th and 16th.
