Small Earthquake Confirmed In Sumter County

(Dalzell, SC) -- The United States Geological Survey is confirming a small earthquake in the Midlands. 

It happened just before 6 yesterday morning outside of Dalzell in Sumter County. USGS says it was a magnitude 2.1 quake recorded at a depth of more than four miles underground. 

Earthquakes under a 4.0 magnitude are unlikely to cause damage.
