Gov. McMaster Doubles Down On State's Vaccination Plan

(Columbia, SC) -- Governor McMaster is standing by his plan to vaccinate people 65 and over for COVID-19 before educators.

He took to Twitter yesterday, saying teachers would be vaccinated soon, but not at the expense of those who are more likely to die without the vaccine.

Last week, he called moving teachers up ahead of seniors "unethical" and "immoral."

South Carolina residents ages 65 to 69 can sign up for COVID-19 vaccine appointments beginning today, adding them to the healthcare workers and long-term care facility staff and residents that are already eligible.
