COVID-19 Vaccine Bill Passed By South Carolina Senate

(Columbia, SC) -- A bill aimed at improving the COVID-19 vaccine rollout has passed the South Carolina Senate.

The measure would send 208-million dollars to DHEC and some hospitals to improve both testing and vaccinations. The bill would allow retired health care workers and trained professionals to administer the vaccine.

Senators made amendments to the legislation before passing it on a 40 to 1 vote, so it now heads back to the House, which has already passed a similar funding bill.
