(Columbia, SC) -- The Department of Health and Environmental Control announced 1,389 new cases yesterday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 436,161 since the pandemic began.
An additional 56 confirmed COVID deaths were also reported yesterday.
DHEC says two of those deaths date back to December, several happened in January, but more than half of the deaths took place in the past week.
