(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina homeowners are being encouraged to remove Bradford pear trees.
The South Carolina Forestry Commission is offering to replace the cut down invasive species with trees that are native to the Palmetto state.
Property owners can bring up to five Bradford pear trees, along with photos of themselves cutting the tree down, to exchange events.
Those are happening at Swang Lan Iris Gardens Health Pavilion in Sumter on February 27th or Nettles Park Large Picnic Shelter in Clemson on March 13th after pre-registering.
