Hate Crime Law Heard In South Carolina House Subcommittee

(Columbia, SC) -- A hate crime law is making its way through the South Carolina Legislature.

Community members spoke to a House subcommittee for over two hours yesterday.

This comes after a group of business leaders spoke out in support of the bill in February. South Carolina is one of just three states without a hate crime law on the books.

This measure will go for a full House vote once it passes the House Judiciary Committee.
