(Columbia, SC) -- There are updated guidelines in South Carolina for visiting people in long-term care facilities.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control says facilities like nursing homes will now use the state's percent positive by county data to determine who can visit.
In-person indoor visitation is allowed in counties that have a 10-percent positivity rate or less and no COVID-19 cases in staff or residents for 14 days.
Before the change, 177 facilities in the state were not allowing visitation.
The agency reported 507 newly confirmed cases of Covid-19 in our state yesterday. The percent positive remained low at 4.7%.
