(Charleston, SC) -- A South Carolina lawmaker wants to rename the basketball court in Colonial Life Arena.
State Representative Marvin Pendarvis of Charleston introduced a resolution yesterday.
If passed, it would rename the court after University of South Carolina coach Dawn Staley, who has led the Gamecocks to five regular-season SEC titles, six conference tournament championships, and a National Championship in 2017.
The measure would only rename the court, while the name of Colonial Life Arena would stay the same.
