Open Carry Bill Passes South Carolina House

(Columbia, SC) -- A bill that would let anyone with a concealed weapons permit carry a handgun in the open has passed the South Carolina House.

The Open Carry with Training Act allows people to carry in a church if the church also functions as a school.

A business would still be able to prohibit open carry by posting signs.

Yesterday's House vote came after six hours of debate. The measure now needs to pass one more procedural vote before heading to the Senate.
