Bill To Allow Gun Carrying Without Permit Advances In South Carolina House

(Columbia, SC) -- State lawmakers are moving forward with a bill that would remove the need for a concealed weapon permit to carry a gun.

The SC Constitutional Carry Act of 2021 passed on a 69 to 47 vote in the House. There is one more procedural vote needed before the proposed legislation heads to the Senate.

If it becomes law, state residents could carry a gun openly without a permit.
