South Carolina Getting $8.8 Billion In American Rescue Plan Funding

(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina is getting nearly nine-billion dollars in American Rescue Plan funds. 

Governor McMaster calls the COVID-19 relief money "enormous" and says the state will be investing it for the future. 

Two-point-five-billion dollars of the funding will go to state governments, with over half allocated for county, city, and municipality governments. 

Two-point-two-billion dollars will be funneled into K through 12 education, with another 532-million dollars to be spent on higher education.
