(Columbia, SC) -- The South Carolina COVID-19 Liability Safe Harbor Act is now a law.
Governor McMaster signed the measure Thursday, providing protections for businesses, healthcare facilities, and state agencies from coronavirus-related claims while they were under a public health order.
The governor says the goal is to protect them from frivolous lawsuits related to COVID-19.
The immunity covers the time period of March 13th, 2020 to December 3rd, 2021.
