(Columbia, SC) -- Governor McMaster is appealing a preliminary injunction that currently blocks South Carolina's Fetal Heartbeat law.
The opening brief of the appeal was filed yesterday, requesting the order be reversed. They argue that abortion centers in the state lack the standing to sue, and that the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals should remand the case for dismissal.
McMaster signed the bill into law on February 18th, a federal district court issued a temporary restraining order a day later, and the preliminary injunction was issued March 19th.
