Widening Of I-26 To Be Sped Up Using American Rescue Plan Act Funding

(Columbia, SC) -- The plans to widen Interstate 26 are being sped up. 

Governor McMaster and the South Carolina Department of Transportation made the announcement Thursday. 

In speeding up the process, the work spanning from Columbia to Charleston will be underway within the next three to four years. 

The project will be funded by over 360-million dollars from the American Rescue Plan Act.
