(Lexington, SC) -- Masks will not be mandatory at Lexington One School District.
This comes after a federal judge blocked a proviso in the state budget that was prohibiting schools from requiring face coverings.
The district's legal counsel advised the ruling is focused on students with disabilities.
Masks remain optional, with masking accommodation able to be requested by students with disabilities.
