State Supreme Court Hears Arguments On Pandemic Unemployment Relief Lawsuit

(Columbia,SC) -- The South Carolina Supreme Court is hearing arguments on the end of federal pandemic unemployment relief in the Palmetto state.

Governor McMaster cut the benefits in June, despite the federal program running through September, in an attempt to ease the labor shortage in the state.

The SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center sued and is hoping to get benefits provided retroactively.

The justices have yet to rule on the case after Monday's hearing.
