(Irmo, SC) -- Three candidates are vying for a seat on the Lexington Richland School District Five's school board.
This comes after board member Ed White stepped down from his position in objection to then-Superintendent Dr. Christina Melton's resignation.
Businessman Jeff Herring, nurse practitioner Haley Griggs, and non-profit development director Tifani Moore are pursuing the role.
A special election is being held today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
