Man In Custody After Shooting Puts Schools On Lockdown

(Columbia, SC) -- A 24-year-old is in custody after a shooting that caused several Richland County schools to go on lockdown. 

Justin Aneese is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime for allegedly shooting a man in the Lake Carolina area Wednesday afternoon. 

Richland County School District Two say Kelly Mill Middle School, Center for Achievement, and Lake Carolina Upper and Lower campuses were on lockdown while police tracked Aneese down. 

Residents in the Lake Carolina neighborhood were also informed of the investigation and asked to stay in their homes.
