(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina's unemployment tax rate for employers is not increasing in 2022.
Governor McMaster made the announcement on Thursday, saying the rate will remain unchanged or decrease next year.
McMaster credited his recommendation to invest CARES Act funds into the state's Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund in 2020 for not having a tax rate hike.
The Department of Employment and Workforce Executive Director calls this a benefit to employers as the state's unemployment rate continues to drop.
