(Columbia, SC) - A review on how school districts select books for school libraries has been completed.
It comes after Governor McMaster was made aware of a book in Fort Mill called "Gender Queer: A Memoir" that he called "obscene and pornographic".
The State Board of Education says if someone who lives in the district or has a child attending school in the district complains, there should be a 15-day period for the book in question to be reviewed.
During that time, the book will be removed from circulation and not put back until it is found to be appropriate.
