(Lexington, SC) - A Lexington man is pleading guilty to charges in connection to the shooting of a Lexington County Sheriff's Department deputy.
After 71-year-old Mark Louis Cote admitted to assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
He also pleaded guilty to domestic violence charges.
The deputy shot with birdshot by Cote in September of 2020 survived his injuries.
