(Columbia, SC) - Proposed legislation that would guarantee paid time off for state employees welcoming a child into their family has bipartisan support.
The South Carolina House and Senate have separate bills offering parents paid time off when a child is born or adopted.
Both came before a Senate Finance subcommittee on Tuesday.
State Senators are looking to pass their version of the bill by April 10th to send it to the House - if they don't make it by the deadline, the House version of the bill will be taken up.
