(Columbia, SC) -- The University of South Carolina women's basketball team is being recognized by state officials.
Legislators recognized the team Wednesday for their NCAA win- the first time a team has been honored on the floor at the State House since before the pandemic.
Governor McMaster then declared April of 2022 as South Carolina Gamecock NCAA Women's Basketball National Champions Month.
This comes after the team beat UConn 64 to 49 in the national championship on Sunday.
