Diocese Opposes State's First Scheduled Execution In Over A Decade

(Charleston, SC)-- The Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston is speaking out ahead of the first execution in South Carolina in over a decade.

The Diocese opposes capital punishment and condemns the methods of execution in the state.

Richard Bernard Moore is set for execution on April 29th by either electric chair or firing squad.

Moore is asking the courts to halt his execution as judges consider if either of those methods are considered cruel and unusual.
