Columbia Plans Railroad Realignment And Removal Project

(Columbia, SC) -- The City of Columbia is planning a railroad realignment and removal project. 

The work would address railways that have prevented economic growth for the city. 

The entire project would cost approximately 200-million dollars, with plans to use 50-million in local resources and matching federal grants. 

Once funding is finalized, the work would take up to five years.
