(Columbia, SC) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation is holding a hurricane drill today.
A hurricane evacuation lane reversal drill is happening on Interstate 26 between Columbia and Charleston, US 21 and 278 in Beaufort County; and US 501 in Horry County.
The drill occurs between eight this morning and 2 p.m.
Barrels and cones deployed as part of the drill will be on roadsides and shoulders- which would not be the case during an actual hurricane.
