(Columbia, SC) - South Carolina is receiving an over 360-million dollar settlement in connection to the opioid epidemic.
The money comes from a 26-billion dollar settlement that several state and local governments reached with the nation's three major pharmaceutical distributors and Johnson and Johnson.
South Carolina's payout will be coming over the next 18 years.
As part of the agreement, 92-percent of the money must be used to address the state's opioid crisis.
