South Carolina Man Pleads Guilty To Role In Jan. 6 Riots

(Anderson, SC) - A South Carolina man is pleading guilty to his role in the January 6th U.S. Capitol riots.

George Amos Tenney III is accused of assaulting a police officer, resisting, or impeding certain officers, civil disorder and obstructing an official proceeding. 

Officials say the 35-year-old Anderson man was the first to open the rotunda doors, letting the other rioters into the building. 

Tenney is set for sentencing October 20th.
